Visit with Mitchel Harrelson
Mitchel has been moved to the Carolinas Medical Center, 1000 Blythe Boulevard, Charlotte, NC, 28203. Yesterday my family and I had the good fortune of being able visit with Mitchel and his wife Susan.

When we arrived, Mitchel was being prepped for a wheel chair so Susan could take him outside for some fresh air. We sat out there for a little while, but eventually retreated to the cafeteria because it was too bright. Almost the entire time outside, Mitchel was tugging at the belt holding him in the chair. We all know how he feels about seat belts.

While we were outside, Susan told us about Mitchel's therapy session on Friday. Apparently the therapist had brought in a cap gun and Mitchel was able to get a hold of it. He placed his finger on the trigger and pretended to shoot a couple of times before slowly turning the gun on his therapist. We could not stop laughing. After being "shot", the therapist asked Mitchel what he hunted. Mitchel responded, "Everything." According to Susan, it was the first discernable word he has spoken.

As the time passed, we talked about hunting, cooking and eating squirrels, the projects Mitchel and I were working on, the children and of course baseball. At one point during a conversation about baseball, Mitchel became very attentative, pointed his finger in my direction and began to speak. Although we couldn't understand his words (too soft to hear), it was undoubtedly about Thomas.

As we prepared to leave and head back to the beach, Susan offered up some more good news. Mitchel may be coming home soon!!! The timeline is not clear, but he could be home in around a month.

All-in-all, Mitchel looks good. His mobility is improving and seemingly his speech as well. We look forward, as you all do, to welcoming Mitchel and Susan home to reunite with their family.

Benefit Account Set up for Mitchell Harrelson

For those who are not already aware, a member of the CBA family was seriously injured in a tragic accident on Sunday evening. Mitchell Harrelson and his son, Thomas, were boating with friends on the ICW when the accident occurred. Please keep Mitchell and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Mitchell's injuries are serious and his road to recovery will be a long and difficult one. Many of you have already mobilized and been there for Mitchell and his family. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. However, as days pass, more assistance will be needed.

An account is being set up at Conway National Bank to accept donations to assist the family. Deposits can be made at any CNB branch. Any amount that you can afford is appreciated. If you can’t afford to offer cash, there are many other ways for you to help. Spare bedrooms or hotel rooms for friends and family; travel miles for plane tickets; meals (many family and friends spending countless hours at the hospital); and the list goes on. Please respond to this email and let us know how you are able to help. We will pass that information on to the family.

Mitchell is being cared for at Grand Strand Regional Hospital for those who wish to visit him and the family.

Thank you,

Chris, Adam, Scott, Willie
